About Us:
The St. John Bosco Clinic (SJBC) opened in 1992 after noticing a need for primary health care and services to our most vulnerable community members in Miami, Florida. The Clinic began with the collaborative and charitable donations of Mercy Mission Services, the Mercy Hospital Foundation, Various Faith Based Grants and Private Foundations providing the much needed funding to open and maintain our clinic.
A transitional Clinic, begun in one of the poorest sections of Little Havana - our Clinic continues to provide primary care services to those uninsured, poor - whom were falling between the "cracks" of the private and public health care system in Miami, Dade County.
The SJBC provides free preventive medicine, screenings and primary healthcare including services for pediatrics, adults, women's health and geriatrics to the uninsured, poor. We also help our patients navigate through the maze of available health care services in our community. Patients from mostly the Caribbean basin are seen and stablelized by our Nurse Practitioners and/or our Volunteer Physicians. Our great volunteer staff provides clerical assistance.
Our Mission:
To provide compassionate primary healthcare for the uninsured poor. We strive to provide treatment with dignity, understanding and commitment for health promotion, maintenance and prevention of illness in our most vulnerable community members. "In the Manner of Jesus who healed"...
