Spellbound Theatre

About us:

Spellbound Theatre is a new company devoted to creating original, multi-disciplinary performance for the very young.  Spellbound produces original plays for audiences ages 0-5 and conducts early childhood education programs and community events for young children.  We believe that young people deserve sophisticated and innovative art experiences  are constantly inspired by the complex and imaginative world of young children.

Founded in 2011, Spellbound Theatre has performed to sold-out family audiences at numerous venues in Brooklyn and Manhattan, including BAX, The Old Stone House, and the City College of New York.  They have received grant funding for their innovative work in theatre for young audiences from The Jim Henson Foundation, The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs (administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council), and the New York State Council of the Arts (administered by Arts Westchester) and receive support from the Brooklyn Arts Council and Materials for the Arts (NYC DCA).

Spellbound Theatre is a not-for-profit organization, and all our programs are run by an all-volunteer staff.  If you see them, hug them.

This year, Spellbound Theatre is a New Victory Theatre LabWorks Resident Artist ensemble, working on a new play for young audiences that will be presented at the New 42nd Street Studios in June, 2015.
