About Us:

South High Theater is dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to experience, discover and expand the art of theater. We try to emphasize that there is a role for everyone in theater; be it as a sound technician, a costume designer, an administrator, crew, actor or as an audience member.

We hope that all students involved will discover that the theater can be an educational place for learning, teaching, expressing, and exploring. It is our goal to provide an institution in which students can nurture their souls, stimulate their hearts, and challenge their minds.

The performances take place in one of two theaters in South High School.

The Mainstage auditorium is a 600 seat proscenium stage located just off the commons area. The lower area has seating for about 350, while the upper tiers have about 125 seats on each side of the main entrance.

The Skybox Theater in located on the second floor of the school. This intimate 50 seat theater is set up with seating on three sides of the acting area.
