Songs of Solomon
About Us:
Songs of Solomon: An Inspirational Ensemble, founded in 2001 by veteran conductor Chantel Renee Wright, performs traditional inspirational music in an environment supportive of young people of diverse backgrounds. Through weekly rehearsals, workshops and performances, participants learn and perform a varied repertoire including gospel, spirituals, anthems and classical and choral music. Singers work on theory, sight-singing, ensemble building and artistic expression. Finally, they get the opportunity to perform professionally, build leadership skills and undertake community service. The ensemble frequently partners with other musical youth organizations and has performed with notable artists such as Ashford and Simpson, Elton John, and American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia Barrino and Ruben Studdard.
