The Somerville YMCA is committed to strengthening and enriching the lives of all individuals, families and our community through quality programs and services that build healthy mind, spirit, and body.
Our Mission
The mission of the Somerville YMCA is to help build a healthy mind, spirit, and body through programs that support and strengthen families, develop leadership in youth, and promote self-esteem and a healthy approach to life. Each year the Somerville YMCA reaches over 3,000 people and 1,500 youths through a variety of social, cultural, and athletic programs designed to help participants grow personally, understand others, and appreciate the world’s diversity. The Somerville YMCA serves the City of Somerville and its adjacent neighborhoods in Boston, Cambridge, Arlington, Medford, Malden, and Everett, an area generally defined as lower middle-class suburbs of Boston.
Our Vision
The Somerville YMCA will serve as a cornerstone in our communities providing values-based programs and services for youth and adults designed to develop healthy lifestyles, delivered in a welcoming environment by committed staff and volunteers
