The Signal Hill library was originally located at the Signal Hill City Hall.  In April 1979, the library moved to its present site at the former Signal Hill Fire Station, next to the Civic Center and Police Department.  The Library collection includes:  young adult, fiction, non-fiction, reference, large print, oversized for adults and children, Spanish language, Khmer language, periodicals and a best sellers collection, DVDs, VHS, and books on CD.  Approximately 90,000 items are in circulation with a book collection of more than 28,000 volumes.  Home to student and active adult activities, high school and collegiate volunteers, the library is a vital part of the Signal Hill community.
