The Sheffield Public Library serves the Village of Sheffield in the Town of Concord, the County of Bureau, and the State of Illinois as it has since its opening on 6 May 1896. A member of the River Bend Library System, the Library has as its mission providing full modern library service to the residents of Sheffield. Its staff and its Board of Trustees are devoted to making the Library in Sheffield a full partner in the network of libraries in the System, in the State of Illinois, and in the world as a whole.
