Sea Mar CHC - Bellingham Behavioral Health Center

Sea Mar’s Bellingham Health Center has been serving Whatcom County since 1996.

The Bellingham site provides integrated care for clients in the milieu of a community health center.  Our clients’ well-being, and support for their well-being, includes comprehensive coordination of care within all disciplines: medical, dental, health education, maternity support services, and behavioral health services.  Sea Mar Behavioral Health Center includes a chemical dependency program, a mental health program and a program for co-occurring disorders.  Our services are provided in both English and Spanish.

Our site is state-licensed as a community mental-health agency and a certified chemical dependency agency.  We meet all requirements for court-mandated services, and we are fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

Our providers use multidisciplinary practices to develop and maintain individualized treatment goals for each client.  Our well-trained professional team consists of mental health therapists, chemical dependency counselors, MDs, and psychiatrists.

Patients are encouraged to have their families and members of their social support system participate in treatment.  We specialize in providing cultural competency of services and our staff has received intense training on evidence-based practices to ensure that we provide the best tools to our patients for them to live healthy lives.
