About Us:

The Schartner Family emigrated from Austria. In 1902 Julius came to, Bolton which was the start of Schartner Farms. Since then we have gone from a dairy farm to a fruits and vegetable farm. We are currently the 4th generation operating the farm and the 5th generation is coming along.

In 2006 we were able to protect the farm from development when we accepted an offer from the Town of Bolton and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to become an APR (Agricultural Preservation Restriction) Farm. The funds were used to secure the deed to the farm so Robert Schartner and the rest of the Schartner Family could continue the tradition of farming the land our great grandfather once did.

Although we are not a commercial operation, we strive on being a true family operation and devoting our time to making your visit a pleasant one. We invite everyone to enjoy the farm as we have for several generations. Bring a picnic and enjoy a day at our farm in one of our orchards or hayfields. There is also access to the Bolton Loop Trail which is a hiking trail that runs through our property.
