Schalk Field

S. Jackson and E. Sargent Street
Litchfield, IL 62056

About Us:

Schalk Field, in downtown Litchfield, is named after Ray Schalk, who played with the Chicago White Sox for 17 seasons; was named by Babe Ruth as the greatest catcher baseball has ever known; caught five no-hitters; and coached at Purdue  University.  The two fields are used extensively for little league baseball and softball, has a concession stand and batting cage open during baseball season, and the park itself is the home of the new community skate park.
