Sammons Golf Course is an 18 hole championship course convieniently located off I-35 in Temple, Texas. First opened in 1922, the golf course has seen many changes and improvements over the years yet has always been a centerpiece of the community.
Recently renovated, Sammons has new Emerald Bermuda grass greens and a re-routed golf course that returns both nines to the clubhouse. Also as part of the renovation, you will find one of the most demanding par 5’s and a collection of some of the best par 3’s in Central Texas.
The golf course plays around Lake Polk and along Bird creek which feeds into and out of the lake. With 16 holes having water in play, each hole requires that you pay attention to strategy and shot execution. The golf course is a par 70 which ranges from a very manageable 4727 yards from the forward tees to a challenging 6562 yards from the championship tees. With four sets of tee boxes, golfers of all skill levels will find a challenging and fun golf course in a truly memorable setting.
