The Salina Public Library's mission is to enrich lives by providing accessible information, learning resources and services to meet the evolving needs of a dynamic and diverse community.

Vision Statement

By 2011, the Salina Public Library will be an exciting lifelong learning and cultural center - the heart of the community - with cutting edge technology that increases accessibility.

The library will be:

Transforming people’s idea of what a library can be
The Center for Lifelong Learning
Operators of a popular, functional Digital branch library
A highly visible and well known community resource
Known as an interactive agency with broad public involvement
Literacy Center for Central Kansas, including early literacy
Engaging retiring baby boomers with meaningful opportunities to be involved and keep growing
A hub of safe activity for teens and young adults
Hands-on Imagination/Learning place for families
