About Us:

Rulo Winery was established in 2000. We produced our initial vintage at what is now Abeja Winery. Total production was just over 300 cases of Chardonnay, Rosé and Red Table Wine. In late 2000, we purchased ∼6 acres of property in south Walla Walla and in 2001 built our winery. Current total production is at 2600 cases of Viognier, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Rulo label and logo is three of the six grain silos which comprise the Rulo grain elevator station. All grain elevators in the valley are named and the location of one's farm is typically associated in relation to its nearest grain elevator station.

We refer to this as, "farmer GPS." This active elevator station is located NW of the winery by 11 miles. The picturesque drive to the Rulo elevator reminds us all of the agricultural background of the Walla Walla Valley. As we were going through the process of naming our winery, we chose to honor the history of the wheat industry and combine it with the burgeoning new grape industry and adopted the name RULO.

Due to concerns surrounding cork taint (TCA) contamination and synthetic closure longevity, Rulo Winery is proud to be 100% screwcap as we feel this is the best currently available closure for wine, period.
