This will be second year running a gokart track, and we are very excited. As soon as mother nature allows us to, we are going to continue to work on improvements at the track. Last year we made alot of changes at the track for the safety of our racers, families, and crew. We moved alot of clay from inside the corners, back out to the top of the racing surface. We also added 30 yards of new clay. This has made the track wider and longer than it was. We have atleast 2-3 racing grooves all the way around the track. We took care of some safety issues also. We moved 4 of the telephone poles back away from the race track and have moved alot of the fencing also. We added new fence around turn 3 and 4, so noone gets hurt by a gokart sliding off the track while people are walking around the track. For added safety of our racers we are using hay bales (wrapped in hay bags like motocross) around the entire outside of the track, and are trying to get more for around the inside of the corners. If we can't get the hay bales for the inside we are going to just use orange cones. We are hoping this will be safer than the tires for the racers, and help to avoid roll overs. All of the buildings are going to be repaired(where needed) and painted, and the bleachers will be repaired and painted. We are working on upgrading some of the track vehicles and equipment, so we can prep the track quicker and easier this year. We are hoping to have the concession stand run by the same group of people as last year. If we are able to, we will get the announcers booth up and running this year, but this will be done last if we have time. And last but not least, we are going to bring in more clay! We are going to try to do some changes to the outside and inside of the track to avoid the clay washing away every time it rains.
