Royal Bavaria was founded November 20th, 1992 by Jörg Kühne, a businessman from Munich, Germany. His idea wasto bring a Bavarian brew pub to Oklahoma with an authentic atmosphere, true Bavarian hospitality and the typical German cuisine, which has found so many friends all over the world.

A 5.5 acre property was located very quickly, and soon the project was approved by the City of Moore.
In the southeast corner of Moore on highway 77/Sooner Road, the groundbreaking took place in August 1993. After the customary 5 week time had passed, according to an old custom, the topping out ceremony took place.

The 8 barrel brew house, supplied by HRH, Prince Luitpold of Bavaria, was integrated into the 5000 sqf building by the end of November. Many people felt the location of the restaurant was a little odd as it was built in the middle of the country with no other businesses around and only a handful of farmhouses.  Jörg's reasoning for the location was it was half way between Norman and Oklahoma City, and since the building was built to look like a Bavarian farmhouse,he believe it needed to be built in the country since that's where true Bavarian farmhouse are located.
