About Us:
Located in the heart of rural Maine, Rowe Orchards (Rowe's House of Apples) has been growing apples and pears for 50 years. We grow 12 different varieties of apples in large quantities, as well as 30 more varieties in limited volume, and 4 varieties of pears on 95 acres of trees. With this variety, there is something for everybody, and there is fresh-off-the-tree fruit from August to November. There is also a 10 acre block of trees set aside for pick-your-own apples in September and October. The store has a wide variety of farm produce, including potatoes, beans and fresh vegetables during the later summer. There are many canned products as well, such as jellies, jams and preserves, dressings and maple syrup. For the sweet tooth, Rowe's sells fudge, maple sugar candy, doughnuts and pies. Take some home to eat yourself, or put together a gift basket for friends or family.
A favorite of many customers is the apple cider at Rowe's. While many orchards have begun pasteurizing their cider, Rowe's still presses and sells raw, un-pasteurized cider. By not pasteurizing, Rowe's preserves the natural taste of the cider and keeps customers coming back for more. As the weather turns cold, Rowe's sells hot mulled cider, as well as the packages to make your own.
