Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek

Rochester, IN 46975

The Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek (formerly Mill Creek Golf Course) is a traditional 18 hole layout located in downtown Rochester, Indiana. The Golf Shop moved to its current location, at the renovated Gerig Round Barn on the south side of the course, in January of 2005 and the golf course layout has also undergone some routing changes. The course is asthetically pleasing and challenging for golfers of all ability levels and additional improvements are underway that will continue to establish the Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek as one of the best places to play for golfers seeking both quality and affordabilty.

The course par is a very traditional 36-36 = 72, and each nine is a challenging blend of reasonable birdie opportunities and tough pars. The opening hole is a difficult starting hole that features a small lake down the left side and Mill Creek down the right side and crossing the fairway. Holes 2 through 4 offer a little relief and a chance to get into the flow of the round. The 5th through the 9th may well be one of the more difficult finishes to a nine in this part of the state. Included in that streatch is a Par 3 that can play up to 221 yards, a moderately long dogleg Par 4, and 3 consecutive holes that feature water almost entirely down the left side. The 10th is a par 3 that begins from an elevated tee in the shadow of the Barn and heads due East to a two tiered green gaurded on the left by a well placed bunker. The 11th is a 580 yard Par 5 that is reachable only by the longest of hitters. The 12th is a risk and reward Par 5 that is reachable in two with a carry over a large waste area or easily playable in 3 shots without ever needing to unleash the driver. The 17th is another risk and reward hole that can be a great temptation. A well struck tee shot will carry Mill Creek and leave less than 100 yards while a layup is much safer but requires a 175-200 yard approach. The 18th is a short par 4 that also features a small lake on the left and Mill Creek on the right. Scramblers may try to drive the green while those playing for their own score will likely hit a 200 yard tee shot and a wedge.
