About Us:

Canoe, Kayak or Tube down the famous AuSable River and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Huron National Forest.

Typically our section of the majestic AuSable River runs from Alcona Dam to our dock at Rollway Resort with landings in between which include Thompson and Bobcat landing depending on which trip you take. We transport you and your watercraft up stream and you float to our dock(excluding tube trip where we designate time and place for Rollway Resort staff to pick you up.). When you reach Rollway Resrt dock you will then secure your watercraft to the dock, bring paddles and life perseveres and your gear up the high banks, which include 226 steps with overlook areas. Proceeding straight through the Forest Service day area across the road back to our resort. Returning paddles and life preserves to our out building that reads, "Paddles and Cushions". The Huron National Forest motto, "Pack it in, Pack it out".

The AuSable River flows easterly through the Huron National Forest and empties into Lake Huron. Betweek Alcona Dam and Loud Dam, it remains totally unspoiled and fall colors are breathtaking. German Brown Trout, rainbow trout, walleye, pike and bass abound for the best fishing around.

The 415, 000 acres forest contains all the wildlife native to Michigan and it has a 220 mile shore to shore trail that crosses the state from Lake Huron to Lake Michigan. This makes the area ideal for hiking, skiing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, hunting or just plain relaxing.
