Rockford State Recreation Area consists of approximately 300 land acres around a 150-acre lake. The area offers boating, fishing, picnicking, swimming and camping.

Fishing
The lake at Rockford State Recreation Area offers bullhead, bluegill, common carp, channel catfish, crappie, flathead catfish, largemouth bass, walleye and wiper, among other species.
Boating
All boats are welcome at Rockford State Recreation Area. One dock and one ramp are available.
Swimming
The area’s swimming beach is a popular spot to cool off during the warmer months. No lifeguard is on duty.
Hiking
The area offers a one-mile hiking trail. Horses and mountain bikes are not permitted.
Picnicking
Picnicking is another popular activity at this scenic area. Rockford State Recreation Area offers 90 picnic tables, 88 grills and two shelters.
Camping
RV and tent camping
Rockford’s shaded campsite offers a variety of camping options. It offers 30 camping pads with 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups, as well as two camping pads without electricity and 40 non-pad sites without electricity. Water and vault toilets are available, but showers, modern restrooms and a dump station are not.All camping at Rockford SRA is first-come,first-served, no reservations.
