Under a dusty ball cap, riding high on a John Deere or perched behind the wheel of a well-worn Silverado pick-up is where you will likely find Tom Jinks, Robinson Family Vineyards patriarch, handyman, winemaker, vineyard worker, chief cellar rat and resident jokester. Married to hospitality specialist, chief keep-it-all-together and keep-everyone-in-line officer, Susie Robinson Jinks, since 'God was a child,' Tom follows a simple philosophy: work hard, play hard, laugh hard and then work a little harder.

For second generation proprietor Susie, to whom the estate was passed from her father, and to Tom, who began dating Susie in high school, retirement meant focusing on the everyday operations of the family estate full-time and all the dirty hands, sore backs and number crunching that came with it. These are the same values that Susie and Tom instilled in their three daughters who, along with the eight grandchildren with whom the girls have blessed them, are the source of their greatest joy.

A visit to Robinson Family Vineyards promises a memorable encounter with at least one   or sometimes all   of the Robinson-Jinks clan. A frenetic yet extraordinarily loving environment peppered with laughter and punctuated with some of Stags Leap District's most delicious wines, RFV is Napa Valley, 'family style.'
