The store’s selection isn’t the only thing on Isle au Haut that will surprise you. Located in the Town Hall, the library is literally packed with good reads, and regularly acquires new titles. For patrons who prefer more esoteric texts or have specific research needs, we make use of the interlibrary loan system. The library also has a collection of audiobooks, DVDs, and well-loved VHS cassettes: when it comes to entertainment, islanders don’t discriminate against antiques. During the winter months, library hours feature coffee, tea, and a variety of baked goods, which make for a very pleasant mid-week tradition. Isle au Haut also has a book discussion group, open to all, that meets once a month.
