Provisor Vineyards

Our vineyard is located at our home on the edge of dry creek valley in the Lytton Springs district of Sonoma county. We've planted 3.5 acres of syrah clone 99 with rows running north to south down a gentle, bowl-shaped hillside. tighter than typical spacing between the rows helps to promote healthy growth competition among the vines. Classic rock red soil and a gentle southern exposure help ensure full ripeness in the fruit. while the vines and mother nature do most of the work, we're on hand to guide the fruit through its seasonal development with strategic leaf-pulling to expose the fruit to just the right amount of sunlight and aggressive thinning just before veraison for an optimum concentration of flavors and balance at harvest.
