PlazAmericas offers over 100 stores with a diverse variety of retailers, dining options, entertainment, carts and kiosks, not to mention the 83,000 square foot Mercado filled with numerous stores and small businesses providing unique items and services. PlazAmericas is not only a shopping mall, it's a gathering place for the community, offering an open area multi-purpose room on the second floor.

The property's new name - PlazAmericas - reflects a new identity for the historic retail landmark. The property opened in 1961 and is Houston's first enclosed mall, it was a premier shopping destination in its heyday, and over the years the community changed and PlazAmericas is changing with it, to stay relevant to the community it serves. Now undergoing a $10 million dollar renovation you can see it is now infused with a Latin feel which fits its surrounding community.
