Open: Year Round:

Steve Meyer was studying to become an accountant in California when he was sidetracked and became a winemaker instead.  About 25 years ago, Steve took a break from his classes to visit Meursault, France and to work the harvest.  Fast forward to today, and Steve Meyer, and his wife Julie, are celebrating their 19thyear of vinting excellence at the Pend d'Oreille Winery in downtown Sandpoint, at the new location in the historic Belwood Building.

Using traditional French methods and grapes sourced from world-class vineyards around the Northwest, Pend d'Oreille Winery produces award winning wines including Chardonnay, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Gris, Viogner, the very popular Huckleberry Blush and the Meyer Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.

These award winning wines are getting recognition at some of the most prestigious festivals in the west.  The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon won a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco International Wine Competition.

Wine brings people together, and that is what Steve and Julie have set out to create - a place to gather. On any given night, friends and colleagues meet at the winery to taste, sip, snack and shop. Throughout the year the Winery donates to many local non profits with a strong presence during the holiday season.

Family friendly events throughout the year create great memories. Fire Dancing in February heats up Winter Carnival. The Anniversary Party takes place in June and perhaps the highlight is the Harvest Party in September.
