In 1928, local citizen, J. W. Pankhurst, donated money to build a new library.  The building was dedicated on May 27, 1929, and on July 6, 1929, Pankhurst Memorial Library circulated its first book.  Modern additions to the building include an ADA accessible ramp and lift as well as computer work stations with internet access.
