Pack Memorial Library is the main library for Buncombe County Public Libraries. Offices here include our Administration and the Technical Services departments.

Pack Memorial is the largest library, with more than 150,000 items available for perusal and check out, including books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, research materials and databases for all ages. Internet access, free Wi-Fi, word processing, and photocopy services are also  available.

The Sondley Reference Department provides research materials ranging from investment reports, literary criticism and consumer information to homework help. The North Carolina Collection features local history and genealogy resources, while the Thomas Wolfe Collection honors Asheville's favorite son.

Lord Auditorium, a 150-seat facility, is available for public use during library hours. Audio-visual equipment is available, but must be reserved in advance. Seating can be re-arranged. Food and drink are not allowed inside the room and there are no kitchen facilities. Please call 250-4700 to schedule use of the room.
