Ovid Winery was founded by the husband wife team of Mark Nelson and Dana Johnson. Ovid's vineyards and winery are 1,400 feet above Napa Valley, nestled into the rugged and rocky eastern hillside overlooking Oakville Crossroad and the surrounding vineyards.   Ovid's mountainous Pritchard Hill location and red, rocky clay soil are key factors in the production of compelling estate-grown wines. Ovid is highly committed to sustainable farming and business practices.  The winery uses gravity-flow throughout the winemaking process and is green-certified and solar-powered. Ovid is a blend of the four Bordeaux varietals:  Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, varying in proportion from year to year but always eloquently conveying a sense of place, and artfully crafted to stand the test of time.
