It all began in the summer of 1990 when two good friends, Nancy Alfaro and Chip Hellus acted on a dream. To create a health center that would be well equipped, clean, and have a friendly inviting environment where we would encourage and educate the huge benefits of exercise in a simple way. To include lifestyle changes all while making it affordable. Reflecting back to our opening day of September 15, 1990, a day that will never be forgotten, the cost of membership was more then than it is today.

Prior to our opening Nancy Alfaro worked at the Mount Snow Ski Area as their Hospitality/Conference manager; she knew how to put on a party! She enjoyed skiing, golfing, and most of all resistance training (weights.)  She enjoyed the benefits of having more strength and endurance. She once even stepped out of her comfort zone and entered a local bodybuilding show. Nancy enjoyed helping people become healthier both physically and emotionally so they could enjoy life and its adventures to the fullest.

Chip Hellus was born and raised in the West River Valley and has always been an advocate of physical fitness. Chip was introduced to weight and cardio training at an early age through high school sports programs; an experience that has opened many doors and provided many opportunities over the years. Between fitness consulting, bodybuilding events both as a competitor and judge, and countless hours spent managing other health centers, Chip was destined to own a health facility of his own.
