Oregon Branch Library

3340 Dustin Road
Oregon, OH 43616

History:

Services to the Oregon community began in February of 1965 in the Oregon Plaza Shopping Center at Coy and Navarre. This location was enlarged in 1980 as usage of the facility increased. In April of 1989, the library service moved it its current location on Dustin Road. A complete renovation project began in 2014, which closed the branch for more than one year. Temporary branch services were held during that renovation period inside the Wynn Center (former Wynn Elementary School) along Bay Shore Road. The project expanded the branch to 18,700 square feet from 15,000 square feet. The project resulted in a larger and interactive area for children and teens. Computer stations were added to the branch along with increased meeting room space, a Maker space, and a conference room complete with data ports added. A 24-hour lobby area will include a media center for customers for after-hours checkouts, and a complete browsing collection of new and popular titles. The Oregon Branch re-opened to the public on September 14, 2015 and is scheduled to observe a Grand Re-Opening Celebration on October 15, 2015.
