Orchid Island Brewery is a small family owned and operated microbrewery in sunny Vero Beach, Florida. We are currently focusing on perfecting a small number of West Coast style IPA's and Wild Farmhouse Ales. We pay homage to our agricultural roots by using local citrus zest, following the same tradition of Belgian Farmhouse breweries. Orchid Island and Indian River County was built around the citrus industry. The area is widely recognized as a region that grows the planet's best citrus.

During winter months when citrus is in its peak harvest, cold snaps sweeten the citrus. If it freezes, it spoils however. What makes Orchid Island unique is its proximity to the ocean and the Indian River lagoon. During the worst winter cold fronts, the ocean and river have a warming affect on the island that keeps the fruit above freezing.The combination of our area's geography and climate are what help make OIB beers stand alone.
