The OIC is dedicated to providing people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to enjoy quality skating programs and ice sports and throughout their lifetime.
The Oakland Ice Center is a city-owned public skating facility conveniently located in the heart of downtown Oakland at 519 18th Street, and easily reached from the 19th Street BART station. Customers enjoy free parking located directly across the street in a secured parking lot.
With one Olympic-size rink and another NHL-size rink, two party rooms and meeting space for group events, the Oakland Ice Center can simultaneously host a wide variety of activities. Other facility features include spectator seating for 1500, state-of-the-art sound system and locker rooms. A fully stocked snack bar and pro shop are also open seven days a week.
Opened in 1995 the OIC is a year-round recreational facility offering public skating sessions seven days a week, plus a variety of affordable learn to skate classes for skaters of all ages and abilities.
As your family fun destination, the OIC offers birthday packages, and affordable rates for groups of 15 or more.
Professional figure skating instruction is offered under the direction of well-known World and Olympic coach Christy Ness, coach of the 1992 World and Olympic Champion.
The Oakland Ice Center is managed by Ice Specialty Entertaintment, Inc. The OIC is committed to promoting our center as a family-friendly community center.
