The Northwood Public Library was established for the intention of providing the community members of Northwood and its surrounding area with access to all sources of information and knowledge-recreational, educational, cultural, social, historical and civic related-available to them. Our purpose is to serve the public and to insure to all people the freedom to read and to freely choose from all materials.
The United States, the leader of nations that cherish political fredom, has accepted the concept that the education of all its people is necessary for the hightest possible levels of individual development: it is necessary for the growth of our democratic society. The public library is, and always has been, one of the major institutions which enhances educational opportunity for everyone.
