North Beach and Zoo Beach

North Beach is Wisconsin's first beach to be designated as a Certified Blue Wave clean beach by the National Clean Beaches Council. It's appeared within the Top 10 Family Friendly Beaches list compiled by Parents magazine, was one of USA Today's 51 Great American Beaches, it has appeared in Midwest Living magazine, and nationally known expert Dr. Stephen Leatherman, nicknamed "Dr. Beach" honorably mentioned North Beach as being the most improved Great Lakes Beach. He cited North Beach's handicap ramps and summer community use as proof of the beach's pro-active management in his rankings of the "Top 5 Great Great Lakes Beaches".

Most recently in 2016, North Beach ranked #4 in the USA Today's Freshwater Beach as chosen by readers of USA Today. North Beach was honored to once again get the "Dr. Beach" nod. It's impressive size of 50 acres along 2,500 feet of shoreline allows visitors to spread out to play in the soft sand and cooling waters and has an impressive playground to add to the fun.

Come and enjoy 50 acres of beautiful sand along 2,500 feet of shoreline just north of downtown Racine. Our certified Blue Wave clean beach also has volleyball courts, concessions and Kid's Cove playground. Free parking is available in designated lots or along nearby streets. Live music is played on weekends throughout the summer season at "The Oasis".  Lifeguards are on duty daily from the first week in June through the first week in September. A wheelchair-accessible walkway extends across the sand to the water's edge.
