Norman Film Festival

Norman, OK 73019

Mission:

The Norman Film Festival Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit, whose mission is to “provide film education and exhibition opportunities to everyone”. We do this by hosting events year-round within the Norman, OK community, and at our annual festival, where we host local and international short and feature films, as well as hands-on filmmaking workshops, and Q&A sessions with Oklahoma filmmaking professionals.

History:

The festival foundation was established in April 2017 by local video producers Chase Spivey, David Birdwell, and Ben Lindesmith. The original idea was to create a “bookend” to the Norman festival season, which kicked off with Norman Music Fest. This event would be the “introverted younger sibling” to NMF, and would allow local filmmakers an opportunity to showcase their work. Since its beginning, the festival has been run entirely from volunteer efforts with no paid staff members. If you’d like to be a part of our team, please go here to volunteer!
