New Iberia Mental Health Clinic has served the mental health needs of the residents of Iberia Parish for over 20 years. The average caseload is 650 adults, adolescents and children. The treatment team includes two part - time Psychiatrists, four clinical Social Workers and one registered Nurse.
The New Iberia Mental Health Clinic was established with the purpose of providing care to the mentally ill within their own community. Our goal is to prevent the need for inpatient psychiatric Hospitalizations. Requests for our services are accepted from individuals, physicians, and other community agencies. Priorities are given to individuals who are experiencing symptoms of severe and persistent mental illness. Individuals who are not accepted for services are referred to other community resources for needed assistance. Cost for services is on a sliding fee scale and is determined according to each consumers income. The services provided to consumers by our Clinic are; Medication Management and Individual, Family or Group Psychotherapy.
The New Iberia Mental Health Clinic staff is dedicated to the expressed mission of providing Recovery oriented services which will assure that the dignity of the individual is preserved without stigma as they strive to deal with their illness with the common goal of being discharged back into the community as viable and productive citizens.
