About Us:

Nevada Union High School (NU) is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills northeast of California's capital,Sacramento. Situated between Nevada City and Grass Valley, the school serves those two incorporated cities and a large surrounding community that includes the areas of North San Juan, Penn Valley, Rough and Ready, Lake Wildwood, and Alta Sierra.

Nevada Union High School opened in 1961. Our school was named a California Distinguished School in 1997, 2008 and 2013, and in 1998 was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon High School. Nevada Union serves ninth through twelfth grade students.

Nevada Union High School is dedicated to providing a vibrant educational environment and a culture of caring where academic excellence can be achieved and responsible citizenship will be developed in partnership with students, staff, and community.
