My Radio Music Festival

History:

My Radio Festival was created in San Marcos, Texas in 2008 and takes place in the city’s downtown area, The Square. The festival was created to give local and regional artists the opportunity to display their musical talents to the fans and locals in San Marcos. The amount of fans and entertainers that attend the festival continues to increase every year.

MR Fest was originally a one-day and one venue event that has since expanded into two days on The Square. The event always takes place on the last weekend in April. MR Fest is hosted by KTSW-FM 89.9, the Texas State University student-run radio station.

MR Fest has increased the number of people entertained from 200 fans in 2008 to almost 1,000 in 2016. The festival has earned two awards for “Best Community Involvement.”
