History:

Founded in 1987, Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch is a family-owned and operated business that focuses on bringing the farm to the city and celebrating the magic of Halloween. Becky and David Campbell, drawing inspiration from their farm in Silverton, Oregon, originally opened the patch in Westwood when they realized how few opportunities there were for Los Angeles-area children to experience farm life at an urban pumpkin patch. Mr. Bones focused on creating a spooky, fun space for families wherein kids could learn more about nature and the environment while celebrating the more traditional side of Halloween.

Over the years, the patch became a holiday mainstay in the area, growing popular enough to attract people from many other communities in the southland. As Mr. Bones grew, it changed locations and ownership. Becky’s daughter, Lyra Marble, began running the business in 2001. Lyra oversaw the patch’s move to the border of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, where it continued to thrive for another 9 years and became known as a celebrity haunt. Eventually, she was joined by her father Steven, who retired after designing and building Universal Studio’s “Back to the Future the Ride.” He brought his design expertise to Mr. Bones and helped develop it into the interactive experience it is today.

After Hollywood, Mr. Bones has gone on to become an institution in Culver City, drawing westside crowds from Santa Monica, Venice, Marina Del Rey, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and as far away as Manhattan Beach and Calabasas. It has become a part of thousands of families’ Halloween traditions, and children look forward every year to visiting us, knowing they will get to experience the fun and excitement we have been bringing to Southern California for the last thirty years.

Mission:

Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch offers customers high-quality pumpkins and merchandise while providing them with a fun-filled family experience. We believe in family and community, and in fostering those connections through holiday celebrations.
