Mountainair Family Health Center

Susan Banks, CFNP delivers primary care at Mountainair Family Health Center. The health center houses the only provider in Southern Torrance County serving low/moderate income families as a Salud! Provider and offering a sliding fee scale. The health center has increased access to services for patients who would have to travel over 40 miles to a physician. The presence of this health center has improved compliance for diabetic and hypertensive patients, improved woman's health prevention offering pap smears and referrals for diagnostic mammograms and osteoporosis screening; improved compliance with childhood immunizations and is attempting to decrease the teen pregnancy rate in the community by being a distribution site for teen education and services related to sexuality issues, growth and development.
