Moss Bluff Harvest Festival

Lake Charles, LA 70601

About Us

The Moss Bluff Harvest festival began in 2004 as an idea from a group of community minded individuals. The festival soon outgrew the facilities at the VFW and now is at home at the Moss Bluff Recreation Complex, now called the Don Manuel Memorial Sports Complex located at 1108 Don Manuel Boulevard, off of Park Road in Moss Bluff, Louisiana.

After Hurricane Rita, in 2005, the Festival was put on hold for a few years, as our community recovered. In 2011, the Ward One Economic Development Board and the Community Center and Playground District 4 of Ward One Board was asked to join forces and bring the festival back to our community. With startup funds awarded to the Economic Board from the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, the festival began again at it's new location. The President of the Economic Development Board, Michelle McInnis, and the President of the Park Board, Cindy Koppenhagen, along with previous Harvest Festival Board Member, Caran Shaheen, began making plans and the 2011 Harvest Festival brought 2500 people to the Recreation Center for a wonderful 3 day event.
