Mission Statement :

The Morton House Museum strives to educate adults and children about 19th and 20th century life in Michigan, as it relates to the settlement, growth and development of the city of Benton Harbor. The mission is fulfilled by: The preservation, exhibition and interpretation of the Museum’s 1849 building, collections, and documents; and Providing tours, traveling exhibits, in-school programs, lectures and special events. We believe that history education enriches the lives of children and adults by fostering academic success, increasing acceptance of generational and cultural diversity, and developing appreciation for the decorative arts.
