Moore Family Library

95 South Adams Street
Grinnell, KS 67738

A "Pride" survey taken in 1979 indicated that there was real interest in having a public library in Grinnell. A Library Committee was appointed to make the plans for the library. Eddie Moore offered a building on main street for use as a library. The "Friends of Grinnell, Inc.," a non-profit corporation, was then formed to handle the legal details and money that was collected through  various fund-raising events for remodeling of the building. The deed to the newly remodeled building was turned over to the city. An open house was held in March of 1985 to celebrate the opening of the new public library.
