Modest words from a group of men who, with vision and planning, sought a way to improve the quality of life in the small community of Montrose, Michigan. From its humble beginnings in 1972 until today, the Montrose Blueberry Festival has become a recognized symbol of community volunteerism and spirit. Hundreds of volunteers give countless hours each year to guarantee the event’s success. That success can be measured by the hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions the festival has made to the Montrose community and by the simple fact that the event has lasted so long.
