Memphis State Recreation Area consists of 163 peaceful acres of land with a 48-acre lake. The speed limit is 5 mph and under. One boat ramp is available.HikingThe area offers a scenic one-mile hiking trail.PicnickingMemphis is a popular day use spot, and has two day use areas with two picnic shelters each. Numerous picnic tables and grills are available to accommodate summer picnics and family get-togethers.CampingPrimitive campingA large campground with dozens of mature shade trees wraps around the lake’s north shore, and plenty of campsites are scattered along the water’s edge. The area offers 100 non-pad sites without electricity. Water, vault toilets, a spacious playground and a dump station are available to campers.
