About Us:

Meadow Ridge Farm was established in 1801 in Middlesex, Vt., by the Putnam family, which owned and operated the local sawmill in this part of town known as Putnamville. Over the years, the property has been home to generations of families and many different types of agriculture.

We purchased the farm in 2001, and after a winter of planning we planted our first Christmas trees-100 in all-the next spring on an open field. Every year since we have continued to plant more trees and we currently have about 7,000 Christmas trees growing on 8 acres of land.

Meadow Ridge Farm is enrolled in Vermont's "Current Use" tax stabilization program, and our woodlot is managed according to a professionally prepared forestry plan. Christmas tree farming helps us to keep the land in agriculture rather than in the hands of a developer. It also makes for a pretty nice place to live.
