About Us:

The McGirt-Horton Branch is a 10,000-square-foot facility at the corner of Phillips and Woodbriar avenues. One wing of the building is designed for teens with a video lounge area, sound booth and a multimedia lab area. There are also two covered exterior spaces totaling almost 3,000 square feet, accessed from inside the library. One space is for teens and the other is for adults and children.

There are more than 30 public computers with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as Internet access. The computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A library card is required for computer use. The children’s area contains special interactive features that encourage discovery and literacy. The Special Collections area includes the Library's African-American collection.

McGirt-Horton offers meeting space with seating for 50 people.The building also features a snack/vending area with seating and tables.
