Mission Statement:

The Mission of the Matheson Memorial Library is to provide informational, educational, cultural and recreational services, in a friendly and supportive setting, to all residents of the Elkhorn community.

Vision Statement:

Through the magic of storytelling, the dazzle of technology, and the friendly familiarity of the printed page, Matheson Memorial Library honors the past as it embraces the future. We serve the communities of Elkhorn and surrounding townships by providing information and entertainment in a variety of formats, as well as a forum for civil discourse and the exchange of ideas. We take pride in serving all segments of our population regardless of age, sex, ethnicity or cognitive or physical abilities. We envision the library as a place where community harmony and understanding can grow. And we continue the ages-old tradition of the library as a repository for Western civilization and knowledge, while assuring that the library stands, open to all, as the door to the future.
