About Us:

Mary E. Courtenay Language Arts Center is a Chicago Public School, serving students in the Uptown neighborhood as well as students who have enrolled through the Options for Knowledge program. Courtenay offers full day Pre-K programs, full day Kindergarten, a comprehensive gifted program, and serves students through 8th grade.

Mission:

We will accomplish this by offering viable programs between school, home and community. We will construct an inclusive environment of excellence, responsibility and diversity, which fosters intellectual, social and technological skills, accomplished through language arts literacy, professional development and parent/community support.

Vision:

We at Courtenay Language Arts Center are committed to providing an academically stimulating and emotionally nurturing learning environment to all students. We are committed to educating students at all levels of abilities. We believe in providing experiences and opportunities and options which, foster intellectual, social and technological skills in the best environment suited for the individual. We will prepare our students for the future so they can become productive members, as well as global citizens in our society.
