Our Mission
The Marietta Museum of History’s mission is to:
Preserve and display the artifacts from Marietta and Cobb County and their role in world history.
Provide an educational, enlightening, and entertaining experience for all visitors.
Promote discovery, curiosity, inspiration, and learning for people of all ages.
Partner with our community to help make it a desirable place to live, work, and play.
A Few Facts
-The Marietta Museum of History has entertained over 200,000 visitors from every state in the union and all over the world since 1996.
-The Education Program at the Marietta Museum of History accommodates school tours year round. We have hosted over 50,000 school children through field trips since 2000. Check out our Education Page for more information.
-The Marietta Museum of History has provided mentoring for the start of museums at Lockheed, the Strand, Zion Church, the Marietta High School Foundation, the Marietta City Fire and Police Departments, and Turner Chapel.
-The Museum hosts a popular programming throughout the year. Check out our Events page for more information.
-The Museum hosts, its largest fundraiser of the year, the Marietta StreetFest, on September 16 & 17, 2017. The event is in its 25th year and draws approximately 25,000 visitors to the Marietta Square. Click here to find out more about the Marietta StreetFest.
-The Marietta Museum of History has been featured in shows on ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, The Discovery Channel, the History Channel, and the Travel Channel
