For most of its history the library was governed and operated as a private library. However, in 2003 the library followed the path of most of its Vermont brethren by converting to a public library, one receiving some form of public funding.

MISSION:
The Mark Skinner Library is committed to serving the life-long journey of learning by providing information and opportunities for personal enrichment and enjoyment to people of all ages in our community
